Gather dry tinder (readily
flammable like straw, cotton, wool, paper etc.),
build a small pile. Ensure your next
larger fuel is handy. Try more paper or
larger sticks.
Grip the Fireball Fire Starter firmly with one hand. Hold the striker in the other hand. Place the bottom of the fireball next to your tinder.
Firmly strike the steel down the fireball showering the sparks onto the tinder without disturbing the tinder. Practice this a few times away from the tinder first. You will find with practice that forcing the striker down slowly is better than rapid movements as it creates less disturbance on the tinder. With practice, you will find that the large amount of extremely hot sparks will easily produce a fire.
