Mini Tracker
Survival Button Compass |
| The Compact Tracker Survival Button Compass is the traditional size, about 20 mm diameter and 8 mm thick, a diameter about the same size as a penny. Numerous NATO Approved versions have been produced over the years. The Compact Tracker Survival Button Compass is liquid filled, durable and very stable. The Cardinal Points are in bright green for easy reading. |
The Mini Tracker Survival Button Compass is about 14 mm in diameter by 6 mm thick, a diameter much smaller than a dime. The Mini Tracker Button Compass is liquid filled, durable and very stable. However, because of the very small size of this compass, it should be used for general direction finding only. This is a very popular compass. |

Note: The plastic button compass, or compass capsule, is generally designed as part of the manufacturing process of designing and assembling a complete, durable compass with the "compass capsule" placed in a housing.
What you see when you are looking at compass capsules are those portions of the compass which contain the "magentic workings" of the actual compass. Please note that "compass capusles" are not necessarily as durable as their finished products.
If taken care of, compass capsules can last a long time, be very accurate and can save a life. However, because of their small size, and the very small size of their magnets, they should not be considered as accurate as a full size compass.
To see an example of a "compass capsule" in a housing, take a look at the Marble's Brass Compass.
Be sure to look at our extensive line of Brunton accessory, survival and orienteering compasses. |
