    • What type of fill is used in this sleeping bag? hollow fill, polar guard or other.
    • Thank you for contacting Best Glide A.S.E. Inc. with your question regarding the Intermediate Cold Weather Sleeping Bag - MSS

The Intermediate Cold Weather Sleeping Bag, a component of the - MSS (Modular Sleep System) is filled with PolyFill - a Polyester fiber usually used in places of a down (poultry down) filler.

Some people with allergies to poultry down find that they can use the polyfill-filled sleeping bags including the Military Patrol Sleeping Bag - Green as well as the Intermediate Cold Weather Sleeping Bag - Black without fear of an allergic reaction.

The Modular Sleep System includes the lightweight green Patrol Bag, the black Intermediate Bag, the 100% Gore-tex Bivy Cover, and the Compression sack used to store and transport the system. All four (4) components are available from Best Glide A.S.E. Inc.

    • What does the NSN number represent? size? model year?
    • Hello,

Thank you for emailing us. The NATO Stock Number, or National Stock Number (NSN) as it is known in the US, is a 13-digit numeric code, identifying all the 'standardized material items of supply' as they have been recognized by all NATO countries including United States Department of Defense.

      Thank you again,
      Cindy

    • Does this bag have a collar inside for around the shoulders? Thanks.p
    • Hello,

Thank you for your interest in our sleeping bag. The Intermediate Cold Weather Sleeping bag does not have a collar around the shoulders. It has what I would call a hood for the head and a draw string to keep it closed. Please let me know if you have further questions.

      Thank you,
      Cindy

    • When will you be getting more of the black sleeping bags in stock and is this item relatively compact - what size (L) dry sack would be ideal to store it while backpacking?

      Thanks,

      Rich
    • Rich,

Thank you for your email. At this time we are not planning on getting more of the surplus sleeping bags. This sleeping bags is a little bulky. When rolled up they are about 13 inches wide and 13 inches tall.
